Username you create when setting up your account
Email address provided through Sign in with Apple (may be a private relay address)
Information collected automatically:
Music play history from Apple Music or Spotify (track name, artist name, album name, artwork)
Device push notification token for sending notifications
Follow relationships between users
Session activity, comments, votes and ratings within the app
Weekly music recommendations you submit
Information we do not collect:
Your location
Your contacts
Camera or photos
Payment information
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Build your personal weekly R&B chart
Contribute your plays to the Taste Charts Global 100
Show your network activity to people who follow you
Send push notifications about your chart, recommendations and sessions
Match you with other users who share similar taste
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is stored on servers in the EU. We retain your play history for a rolling three-week period. Account data is retained until you delete your account.
5. Third Party Services
We integrate with the following third party services:
Apple Music — to access your recent play history. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
Spotify — to access your recent play history. Governed by Spotify's Privacy Policy
Supabase — for database and authentication services
Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — for delivering notifications
We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use advertising networks or analytics platforms.
6. Data Sharing
Certain information is visible to other users of Taste Charts:
Your username
Your weekly chart (visible to people who follow you)
Your network activity stories
Comments and votes in sessions
Your Taste Mates match
Your email address is never visible to other users.
